- Cooking for Jeffrey, by Ina Garten
I’m kind of borderline obsessed with Ina and her life. She’s classy, her food is delicious, and she’s friends with Taylor Swift, (kinda kidding, but not really). I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on this one and make every recipe while wearing my chambray button down and simultaneously judging everyone for their grocery store olive oil. Goals.
2. The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime, by Ree Drummond
My love for Ree and her food is so strong, it singlehandedly got me through a summer abroad while I pined for comforts of home. If that doesn’t sell you, her step-by-step pictures are honestly the way all cookbooks should be written. Simple, easy to follow, and visual.
3. Food 52 Genius Recipes
I love a good life hack. This one promises tons of simple tips and tricks. Please make me smarter, Food 52!
4. Mexican Slow Cooker Cookbook
This cookbook looks like everything I stand for and love in life: tacos, crockpots, low-effort dinners, and feeding my Puerto Rican boyfriend.
I’m so excited just thinking about this one. It promises home cooks simple recipes where they can succeed and have culinary “victories”. Isn’t that what we all want in life? Delicious food and praise? Seems like a win-win for everyone.
6. The Whole 30 Cookbook
I assume I’m not alone on this planet as a person who constantly bounces back and forth between, “I’m so fat I need to diet NOW”, and “I don’t care how much butter is in it I NEED ALL THE FOOD”. I know after this holiday season I’m going to be in full diet & workout mode. I’m not someone who believes in crazy fad diets, so this healthy, clean, and balanced eating idea will definitely give me some much needed inspiration.
7. Sheet Pan Suppers
I’m SUCH a strong believer in the sheet pan dinner. Holy hallelujah. And if you line the baking sheet with aluminum foil? Zero clean up. Hello, lover.
8. Instant Pot Cookbook
Okay you guys, major trend alert. This Instant Pot thing is a MAJOR game changer. New to cooking? Got a tiny kitchen? Have a busy life? It’s a 7-in-one slow cooker, pressure cooker, steamer basket, rice cooker, yogurt maker, salute pan, warmer, YOU NAME IT. And this book tells you everything you can do with it. My new favorite obsession.
See the note above about the post-holiday diet. This vegetarian book is sure to be inspiration for many meatless Monday’s to come.
10. The Flavor Bible
This book takes simple ingredients and lets you know what pairs well, their seasonality, and how to perfectly cook them. Hence, a bible.
